Keep Sinbad the lion free in Africa
Sinbad is a small and friendly lion with a stunning long mane. He lives at Born Free’s big cat sanctuary in a place called Shamwari, in South Africa. Sinbad has a very sad history, but today with your help he continues to enjoy his life in Africa.
Sinbad was rescued from a cramped and rusty cage in a zoo in Romania when he was six years old. He was half the normal size of a lion. He had to walk on hard concrete and only had a log and an old car tyre to play with. Now thanks to Born Free, Sinbad will have a lifetime of care with proper protection and plenty of food to eat. This little lion is recovering his strength and dignity.
Born Free is an international charity dedicated to the protection of many wild species. A large part of their work is helping animals which have been kept in tiny and unsuitable enclosures, moving them to spacious sanctuaries where they will be given care for as long as they need it.
