Frequently Asked Questions

Why did PAW™ choose these charities
PAW choose charities that are not necessarily aimed at supporting Children, which may seem the obvious choice, but ones whose causes we feel Children between 4-10 years old will engage with, such as Lion rescue, Monkey adoption, Cleaner seas etc.

The overridding purpose of PAW™ is to raise awareness to children at a young age of the fact that there are great causes out there.

These are many large charity organisations that receive a huge amount of support across the UK and the world. PAW™ wishes to support much smaller charities that struggle to survive against the large fundraising organisations.

How are the charities chosen?
We choose charitable causes which we feel are admirable, but try to represent enough variety for PAW™ customers to choose according to their own interests. We also try and choose projects which can be made understandable by young children. If you work for or have a suggestion for a charity you would like to see on the PAW™ system, please let us know.

Can I host a PAW™ party for a charity that is not listed on the site already?
Unfortunately not. We work closely with our charities, and only offer a limited number on the site so that we can develop this relationship. More charities will be brought in sometimes – but as long-term partners rather than for single parties.

Does my donation go only to the cause described on the theme pages?
Your donations always go to the charity of your chosen theme, which is referred to on the charity page. PAW™ does not restrict how the charities may spend the money received from donations – they can use it for whichever project or projects they feel is most effective, as experts in their own field. Some charities may have policies to direct the funds from the parties to the specific project those donations were for, but that is up to them – you can find out specific policies on their own websites.

Is Parties Around the World a charity?
No, PAW™ is a profit-making company, that works closely with charities in a fundraising capacity. PAW™ charges the Host of a Party for certain services, and it also takes a small percentage of all donations.

How much of my donation will go to charity?
Parties Around the World takes 7.5% of any donation before Gift Aid (Gift Aid will apply on the full donation) with a minimum fee of £1. Charities Trust takes 4% of the donations and 4% of Gift Aid. Taking into account the 28% of the original donation added on by Gift Aid, £1.15 from every £1 of donations will get to charity.

What do you do for your fee?
We process all the payments that we receive, make sure Gift Aid is included, bundle them and get them to the charities’ bank accounts as a regular influx of money with no effort from them. The PAW™ system is good for charities because we provide large amounts of fundraising with little effort and no risk. We have produced something which effectively promotes certain charities, especially to (literally!) new groups of people, and we have to constantly maintain its effectiveness – we market.

We provide and maintain a convenient service to party hosts and guests, and innovate to keep making it useful. We design all those
invitations and certificates that Guests and Hosts use – and all of them are personalised for particular parties.

Does some or all of the charges for the printed certificates, invitations or printed invitations go to charity?
No, all transactions for these services are seen as commercial and the money goes directly to PAW™ as a company.

Can strangers find out where and when my child’s birthday party is?
No. Any information which you choose to put on your Party Page will only be accessible to the guests you choose to invite, since we create a unique login for every guest. And it isn't mandatory to even enter that information if it makes you uncomfortable.

Would you like to know how we made our Party Around the World special, got involved with our chosen theme, and had a really nice day?
Yes!
